The FPPF is launching the Wedding Photography Workshop, designed to hone photographers to effectively cover and document weddings and prepare them as professional wedding photographers. The first Wedding Photography Workshop will be held on November 17-20, 2009 at the FPPF Studio in Intramuros, Manila.
Designed to focus mainly on wedding preparations and ceremonies, the workshop is aimed at aspiring wedding photographers, advanced amateurs, photography studios who do wedding coverages, hobbyists and photography students who want to learn the ropes of wedding photography.
The workshop will be conducted by noted wedding photographer Jomel Gregorio, a wedding photojournalist and artist. Jomel is a professional faculty instructor for A.B Photography at the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts. For Jomel Gregorio, wedding image should be simple but should immortalize the true emotions, human interactions and split second details of that special day. To be unique it should be captured with style.
Jomel is joined in the workshop by Joseph Galian, an experienced wedding photographer since 2003 and an instructor for both the FPPF and Saint Benilde. Joe shoots currently for various high end wedding photography studios. He will showcase various styles involved in wedding portraiture, photojournalistic style of wedding coverage.
The Wedding Photography Workshop will also feature wedding photo lectures from FPPF instructors Vic Sison, Ador Pamintuan and graphic artist Frando Culata.
Attend the workshop and:
- Learn how to effectively use available light and off camera strobes to do portraiture.
- Learn how to adjust your cameras quickly in any given situation for that perfect exposure.
- Learn how to develop your own unique style and be rewarded handsomely.
- Learn how to create and protect your branding.
- Learn complete, creative professional wedding photography.

@Allan,
Same here. I made sacrifices just to attend and learn from this wedding workshop.
I filed for an office vacation leave (tuesday up to saturday).
I hope to learn a lot from the masters of FPPF.

If memory serves me right, this is the “best” wedding workshop package for any Filipino photog now. Please inform me if there are any “better” deals out there locally. It’s also historic for the FPPF: it’s the first 4-day wedding photography workshop. Please prepare all your questions beforehand so as to maximize all lecturers. It’s bound be a hit: there are more that 500,000 weddings a year in the country, hence the need for more wedding photogs. So see y’all sooner. Cheers!

@jun: here’s an update, jun, re your inquiry for a december wedding workshop. the fppf organization will be preparing for the upcoming photoworld asia 2010 due up in jan-feb, so we will not be able to schedule a december class. watch for upcoming scheds after pwa 2010. thanks!

Thank you for the quality assurance. Mr. Chris.

@chris: thanks for the favor.
@eddie: We’ll just hope for the best of the workshop that nothing would be compromised of… this is my first time joining this kind of undertaking in Manila by flying all the way from Mindanao and I had a great expectation for these top-caliber mentors to deliver their share as well… I’ll just reserved my comments thereafter…

@eddie: we just haven’t had time to revise the text of the original syllabus, but all the important matters there will be taken up in the four-day workshop. don’t worry, there’s no diminution of the teaching/learning process there. everything will be covered in the workshop, including minute details such as the nitty-gritty of the wedding shoot contract and the avp of your shoots. thanks!

Dear Organizers, this is a follow-up of my first post above. I have checked your revised workshop course content and found the revised day four workshop impossible to achieved, three days workshop being lumped into one day? As an example, how can I make a homework (AVP of Wedding Shoots) and submit it on the same day?
Thanks.
Hoping for your clarifications.

Dear Organizers, without offending anyone, I originally enrolled for six days wedding workshop, November 17-22, 2009, 9am to 5pm.
Based on your prescribed wedding seminar course outline, it is perfect for a six days workshop with four days allotted to demo and participant’s actual photo shoot. This is what I like best of this seminar…..”Learning by doing it.”
Now, with the sudden changes, I hope the teaching quality and learning tempo will not be sacrifice.
I hope that day two, preparation day; day three, church ceremonies; day four, portrait session; day five, at the reception will still be applied and simulated as it is.
Thanks.

Hi Allan! The FPPF management contracted the Wedding Photo Workshop from Nov. 17-22 to just Nov. 17-20. For a December wedding workshop I think the FPPF must yet check on the vacant slots of all lecturers. Eill keep you all posted. Thanks for clarifying.

yes, allan, that’s correct: four (4) days from Nov 17-20. it was originally scheduled for 17-22, but after going over it again, the fppf decided four days would be fine.

@Joe Galian,
Just wanna clarify if the “FPPF Wedding Photography Workshop” is a 4-day workshop since I first saw the ad in your blog http://joegalian.blogspot.com/ with dates Nov 17-22, 2009 and only to find out here in FPPF that it is Nov. 17-20, 2009… Anyway not a big deal but ’tis better to correct things out…

Hello guys! The FPPF is always here to help any Filipino photographer excel. We may arrange a December Wedding Workshop if it’s logistically possible. I understand December is overflowing with participants from other workshops, hence, instructors are spread out. We will get back to your request ASAP.
Commented: November 3, 2009 at 12:21 pm
Appreciate if the FPPF will also spare or give chance to visiting OFWs who has only December for annual vacation to enjoy the workshops from a prestigious institution.
