Photo by Faisal Abdullah Kandrani which won a Gold Medal for Qatar entries in the 2009 Al-Thani Awards for Photography, which is fast becoming the world’s largest annual salon of international photographic art. Last year’s grand prize of US$30,000 and a Leica M6 went to Abdul Wahab Saed Al-Asbahi of Kuwait.
