The FPPF will hold a strobist workshop in Cebu City on September 11 & 12. The two-day workshop, STROBIST 101: Creative Portable Lighting, will be held at the Sacred Heart Center, D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City.

The strobist workshop will be conducted by ace photographer Ricky Ladia, FPPF mentor and photography teacher at La Salle’s College of St. Benilde, who will share his experience and expertise for participants to learn advanced techniques in using off-camera flash to create stunning photographs.


Course Outline:

Day 1:

• Tools for a Better Light: Small Flash Big Light
• Light Modifiers/Lightshapers/Lighting
• Supports, Triggers and Receivers
• Power Management
• Camera and the Flash
• Understanding Off-Cam Flash (Basic Lighting Set-up)
• One Light
• Basic Two-Light Set-up, Mixing Light (Working with Filters)
• Outdoor Off-Cam Flash (Fashion/Portrait)
• Outdoor Off-Cam Flash (Travel)

Day 2:

• The Nikon CLS
• Working with Multiple Lights
• Building a Lighting Recipe
• Indoor Off-Cam Flash (Fashion/Portrait)
• Indoor Off-Cam Flash (Working with Products/Still Life)
• Indoor Off-Cam Flash (Working with Everyday Things)
• Critique Session
• Announcement of Winners (Photo Shootout)
-Portrait/Fashion (Best 2 Entries)
-Travel/Street Photography (Best 2 Entries)
• Distribution of Certificates

Workshop Fee is P3,500 inclusive of meals.

Hi Lillix! It’s better to secure your seat early as it’s running out fast..

Hi beentoy! You definitely need to bring your camera. As for the flash, we’ll provide units to be used by the participants in groups. Better to bring your own flash so you can practice and experiment with your own equipment, if you have one.. :-)
