Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation is holding a Strobist Photography Workshop this Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the FPPF Studio, 302-Annex, 3rd Floor FEMII Bldg., A. Soriano St., Intramuros, Manila, Philippines. Professional photographer and FPPF instructor Joseph Galian will be conducting the one-day workshop which will feature various strobist techniques, using the off-camera flash to create stunning photographs.

NOTE: All participants are ideally required to bring a DSLR camera, flash unit and a radio frequency (RF) receiver with transmitter set. RF sets may be bought for P1,500 at the FPPF, just look for Brian Lee.

I have a Nikon D90 with an SB600 flash. Are these enough to use and take advantage of this seminar? can i still use the built in flash even if may nakakabit na RF trigger?

To Sergio:
Ideally you need an RF trigger for outdoor off-cam flash photography. Nikon CLS has limited range when shooting outdoors at long distances. It’s your choice.
To Jong:Look for Brian Lee in the Fort Santiago (brian_leeph@yahoo.com.ph) who sells the Youngnuo brand. He can email you the specs and images-if you request it. You can buy other brand of your choice too.

To Christopher: Ideally buy an SB900 if you can afford it. If there’s a cheaper SB800-then go for it. If you’re on a tight budget then any flash you can afford-but make sure it has a PC sync outlet.
