Boboy Librodo, left, talks to delegates of PhotoWorld Asia 2012 on the second day of the photographers’ convention at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati. The older brother of the more famous Manny Librodo is an accomplished painter, musician and photographer who taught his younger brother the art of photography.

Boboy’s all-morning lecture was titled The Eye: The Art of Seeing. “The best photographs are the simplest photographs,” said the painter and art teacher. He also shared a few tips to photographers: “Set your White Balance to Cloudy minus two or three to eliminate the bluish tone in portraits, and underexpose your photos to show details and shape.”

In the afternoon, the world-famous photographer-artist Manny Librodo delivered his own lecture on The Art of Seeing: “Look for sharpness in the eyes, and emotion,” Manny said on creating photographs that viewers can relate to. Manny has been all over the world to deliver lectures and workshops on his distinctive style of photography.

In his talk, Manny acknowledged that his model Kharu, shown on the computer screen, contributed much to his photographic success. Kharu not only did make-up and modeled for him but also conceptualized many of his highly acclaimed images, a thinking model.

Later in the afternoon, the Librodo Brothers shared the limelight in light-hearted banter together and compared each other’s images, to the delight of the convention delegates.
