The FPPF art exhibit “Flow: watercolorworks” by Aphrodite dela Rosa runs from Sep 23 to Oct 29 at the FPPF Art Chamber 2.

The FPPF is holding an art exhibit of watercolor works by young artist Aphrodite dela Rosa, an alumna of St. Scholastica’s College, Bachelor of Fine Arts, major in Visual Arts and Design. “Flow: watercolorworks” by dela Rosa will be on exhibit from Sep 23 to Oct 29, 2017 at the FPPF Art Chamber 2 inside Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila.

Dela Rosa veered away from the usual oil and acrylic and chose the more difficult medium of watercolor as a “change of pace,” she said, “letting go and allowing the colors to flow freely.”

Applying the graded wash technique, she pushed the boundaries of this vibrant medium to create works that cascade with playfulness. Her choice of seemingly understated subjects – flowers, butterflies, cats and fishes – are brought to life with bold and precise strokes, that only the disciplined few are able to master.

“Flow: watercolorworks” runs until October 29, 2017. Admission is free to the public.
