The government’s Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is conducting a 3-day seminar March 6-8 in Fort Santiago in support of the certification process for Photography National Certification Level II (NCII). The “Capability Building Program for Prospective Lead Assessors” is being held with the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation, FPPF, facilitating the seminar. In attendance are photographers from various regions of the country, FPPF instructors, and TESDA personnel.
Executive Director Susan dela Rama of TESDA’s Certification Office said seminars of this kind are being held today all over the Philippines, not only in photography but also in other industries to ensure quality and integrity in TESDA’s assessment process. “Quality because we will have the same standards, and integrity because we will make sure that assessors will not make shortcuts during assessments,” dela Rama said.
For her part, TESDA Competency Assessment Division Chief Nelie Llovido, who supervised the seminar in Fort Santiago, said participants in this seminar will eventually be lead assessors in Photography National Certification Level II (NCII), and they will be instrumental in building the infrastructure for photography certification all over the country.
